Templates – tips and tricks, trends and what we discovered that photo booth customers like or dislike

There’s quite a lot to say, so I’ll write about each type of event in detail:

1. I’ll start with weddings, as they are the most common event where we all rent a photo booth.

The first thing I noticed since the first year we introduced the photo booth as an additional service was that many guests (especially seniors, but not only) were asking us if they could take just one picture instead of 3, which was the number of pictures included in the evening’s graphics (in the first year we worked with just one graphic model per event – the classic 3-picture model).

The reasons were diverse: some simply didn’t have the patience to take 3 consecutive pictures, others already had a thick pile of prints and wanted to take just one, more serious one, but the most important were the bride and groom who had neither the time nor the inclination to take 3 frames in a row with almost every family.

Thus, we understood that, first of all, we must thank the bride and groom, because, yes, they recommend us further, they must feel good with the guests, not just to see them tired and impatient for the photo session to end.

Later, we started using at least 2 graphic models/templates at events: 1 with a single photo and 1 with 3 photos, and sometimes even with 2.

We were surprised to notice that the one with one photo was the most successful.

Regarding the graphics themselves, I recommend that you be as creative as possible. It is very important to consult with the bride and groom in advance, try to get to know them a little, see what they like (whether we are talking about flowers, greenery, simplicity, etc.) and create something for them that they will like first and foremost.

We choose to create a personalized template for each couple of bride and groom, so that each template is unique.

For us it is important to thank them first and foremost, to leave them with a fond memory, and secondly we try to introduce the graphics into the theme of their wedding, to match it, to be on the same note (for example: if they have floral arrangements of a certain color we use the same flowers/colors in the template).

Trends:

in 2018 and we expect that in 2019, greenery (leaves of all types) will still be desired

rustic themes (wood, lace) are very successful

also the lavender theme

dark flowers (magenta, garnet, purple, lilac, royal blue)

fonts that imitate handwriting (handwritten calligraphy)

2. Baptisms (brother-in-laws) – and at this type of event, we noticed the same desire to have a template with a single photo, so for baptisms we also offer 2 graphic models (one with 1 photo and one with 3 photos).

Again, I recommend you to be as creative as possible, I play with colors a lot, I like to bring graphics to life at baptisms; unlike weddings, at baptisms I make colorful graphics and add many animation elements.

I also recommend having special baptism props for both boys and girls.

Trends:

There are no rules at baptisms, no graphics are the same, each parent chooses a popular cartoon character at the time. You don’t have time to get familiar with one because at the next baptism another character appears

but nevertheless the most popular are the teddy bears

3. Children’s parties – well, in this case I don’t recommend graphics with 1 picture anymore:) you probably already understood why: the photo booth is fascinating for children, they take pictures non-stop, so they don’t even need a frame on the graphic because they love to pose, the more frames on the graphic the better :))

So you can offer them templates with 3 or 4 pictures.

However, unlike weddings and baptisms where the photo booth must be present for at least 4 hours (we will talk about the rental time in another article), in the case of children’s parties we recommend 2 or 3 hours maximum. They will make the most of this time anyway, they will fill it, it is even possible that they will never want it to end:)

Trends:

unicorns are very popular with girls now:)

for the boys in us it depends on what cartoon they prefer

It is enough to ask the parents what the child’s favorite cartoon is or what the theme of the party will be and this will make your work easier from the start.

Find ANYTHING on Google. Always download only pictures in .png format (clipart).

As a general conclusion, whether it is about the bride and groom, parents or children, we want to thank them, because most of the time former clients are the most effective form of promotion.

And I think I can speak for you when I say that we all want a positive promotion 🙂  Talk to them, ask them questions, offer them both a service and a consultancy.

And don’t forget that you are not just giving them a printed photo but a lifetime memory, a memory that will either end up on their fridge, in a photo frame or in a photo album dear to them.
