I have a photographer, why do I need a photo booth?

It happened many times that we recommended the photo booth as an additional service to the bride and groom who were going to have the event at our location (www.ballroom-andra.ro) and we were met with this response: “We have the photographer available all evening, he takes as many pictures as we want, there is no point in taking the photo booth too.”

And do you know why the bride and groom have this wrong reaction? Because they do not know what the role of a photographer is and what the role of a photo booth is, the two services having completely different missions.

The photographer and the photo booth are not the same thing!

Both photographers and videographers tend to focus all evening on the main couple – the bride and groom and their families. There are, however, times when they move outside the crowd to take random photos of the guests, but usually these are done during the breaks (the break between the band’s programs or when the food is served).

The only time the photographer focuses his/her full attention on the guests is when they are welcomed, which can affect traffic at the wedding venue. Basically, if the bride and groom want to take a photo with each pair of guests upon arrival, a queue will literally form. And instead of enjoying the best welcome, the guests stand and wait in line to take a photo that they will never use anyway. Also, an entrance photo requires a lot of wasted time – the guests arrive, we explain that we need to take a photo, we move to the panel, we get into position, the photographer has to check if we got it right, we thank them – which can lead to a delay in the wedding program. Also, in the entrance photo, the chances that all 4 photographed subjects (the bride and groom and the couple of guests) will come out well in the photo are very small.

The photographer’s role is to capture the most emotional moments: every gesture, movement, smile, tear will be immortalized by him during the event. His mission is for the bride and groom to look impeccable in all the photos.

In short, the photographer’s focus is on the bride and groom and not on the guests. While the photo booth is intended almost exclusively for the guests, being at their disposal all evening. Especially when the bride and groom choose to have their picture added to the photo graphic (template) so that they no longer feel constrained to take pictures at the booth with all the guests.

Therefore, the photo booth has a completely different role: it exists to create a fun and captivating atmosphere for the guests, whether they are young or senior. Most of those who choose to rent the photo booth do so for the fun it generates, but there are also those who rent it strictly for testimonials and for the idea of instant printed photos.

Another element of differentiation between the two services is that at the photo booth, guests can take pictures when they want and how they want, without being conditioned by anything, pictures that they receive printed on the spot. The photo booth brings people together and contributes to creating unforgettable memories, and new friends.

At the same time, the photo booth is also a joy for the bride and groom, as they receive at the end of the event their first wedding photo album full of messages and pictures of their loved ones that once again attest to the fun at the event. In addition, they will relive the emotions of the wedding for a few seconds, when they browse through the funny pictures and touching messages.

Considering these aspects, it is clearly understood why the photo booth is a service that adds value to any event and why nowadays it has become a must have!
